Overall Job Objective:

The Ground Segment Software Development Engineer is responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining the software systems that support the ground segment for space missions. This includes mission control software, data processing systems, and communications infrastructure.

 

Job Responsibility:

  • Design, develop, and test software for ground segment operations, including mission planning, data handling, and control systems.
  • Collaborate with engineers and mission teams to understand operational requirements and deliver software solutions.
  • Implement software to manage telemetry, tracking, and command (TT&C) systems.
  • Ensure software is reliable, scalable, and meets real-time mission needs.
  • Maintain and update software systems to support long-term operational needs.
  • Work closely with hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration between software and hardware.
  • Participate in software documentation, training, and knowledge transfer to operational teams.
  • Perform software debugging and troubleshooting during mission operations.

 

Qualification and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or aerospace
  • Experience in command, telemetry, and tracking software is preferred
  • Experience in space missions is preferred
