Overall Job Objective:
The Ground Segment Systems Engineer (GSSE) is responsible for overseeing the integration, operation, and maintenance of ground segment systems that support space missions. The role ensures the proper functioning of communication systems, mission control, tracking stations, and other key infrastructure while managing verification activities through different levels of the requirements.
Job Responsibility:
- Design, integrate, and test ground segment systems.
- Work with mission teams to ensure the ground segment meets the operational needs of the mission.
- Monitor and troubleshoot ground segment systems during mission operations.
- Define and document system requirements, interfaces, and performance specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, software developers, and system analysts.
- Support operational validation, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with standards, safety regulations, and security protocols.
- Oversee ground segment test schedule.
- Approve the verification of ground segment requirements.
- Oversee the resolution of discrepancies, anomalies, and problems in the test program.
- Act as the focal point for verification documents, managing verification activities at different levels of requirements.
- Support the development of test plans, procedures, and Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) to ensure verification is accomplished.
- Collaborate with technical leads to delegate verification engineers and develop verification methods, requirements, and compliance reports.
Qualification and Experience:
- Bachelor degree in engineering
- Experience in telecommunication is preferred
- Experience in space missions is preferred
