Description: 

Overall Job Objective:

To develop and support navigation and tracking systems for space missions, including orbit determination, maneuver planning, and optical navigation, while serving as the technical lead for related analysis, integration, and performance evaluation.

 

Job Responsibility:

  • Develops the tools and processes for processing radiometric tracking data
  • Defines the Space Communication Network tracking requirements
  • Technical representative for ConOps related to orbit determination, maneuver planning and optical navigation
  • Develops the algorithms, tools and processes for orbit determination, maneuver planning and optical navigation
  • Technical representative for navigation uncertainties and performance
  • Technical representative for the navigation analysis, integration, and test
  • Understanding of orbital mechanics, statistical analysis, and numerical optimization. Knowledge of systems engineering principles and space mission lifecycles.

 

Qualification and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in aerospace
  • Background in mission dynamics is preferred
  • Experience in space mission is preferred

  • The entire Microsoft Office suite
  • Collaborative content creation environments (e.g., Confluence, Google docs)
  • Navigation Software (eg. Scarabaeus)
  • Scripting tools (eg. Python)
