Overall Job Objective:
The Media and Outreach Officer reports to the Mission Director for all the project’s media and educational outreach efforts. This role combines media strategy, public engagement, and collaboration with academia to inspire future generations and broaden the mission’s impact.
.Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with national and international media outlets.
- Draft press releases, media kits, and briefings to communicate mission updates.
- Organize press conferences, interviews, and media tours of mission facilities.
- Design and execute public awareness campaigns highlighting mission goals, milestones, and scientific achievements.
- Host events, exhibitions, and workshops to engage diverse audiences, emphasizing the mission’s global significance.
- Respond to public inquiries and manage online discussions to foster positive engagement.
- Collaborate with universities, research institutions, and educational organizations to promote STEM initiatives linked to the mission.
- Develop educational resources, including lesson plans, webinars, and presentations, to support academic programs.
- Coordinate with academic partners to host guest lectures, workshops, and mission-related research projects.
- Engage with student organizations, offering mentorship and opportunities for involvement in the mission’s outreach activities.
- Create compelling multimedia content, such as videos, blogs, infographics, and social media posts, to make complex scientific concepts accessible.
- Oversee the mission’s official website and social media platforms, ensuring timely and engaging updates.
- Ensure all communications align with the UAE’s vision and the mission’s brand identity.
- Monitor public perception and manage crisis communication strategies when necessary.
- Work with government agencies, international space organizations, and private entities to amplify outreach efforts.
- Partner with influencers, cultural institutions, and thought leaders to broaden the mission’s impact.
Qualification and Experience:
- Communications, Public Relations, or related fields.
- 4+ years in media, public relations, or outreach roles, ideally within the aerospace or science communication sectors.
- Strong understanding of space science, STEM education, and the UAE’s space exploration initiatives.
- Familiarity with trends in digital media, public engagement, and academic collaboration.
